The Mother and Child Foundation

Access to basic health and medical services provided by the government are difficult to those who are poverty-stricken or those who are separated by distance to the mainstream lowland life.

It is therefore a moral and civic obligation of other sectors to provide what is necessary and adequate to reach out to this marginalized sector of society in consonance with the basic principle of social justice and equality.

With this in mind, Mater et Puer Foundation, Inc. came into being in 2003.
Mater et Puer stands for Mother and Child.

The Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit organization based in Davao City, Philippines, and has for its members a group of mothers/professionals who are passionate about extending charitable activities, initially through medical and dental outreach programs to mostly depressed areas where health services is one among the many concerns.

It went on to provide several workshops for the training of volunteer stress de-briefers for children under trauma due to disasters and calamities and the construction of an integrated health facility for the survivors of tropical storm "Sendong" in Cagayan de Oro City. Another health facility for Iligan City typhoon "Sendong" survivors will be completed soon.

Recently, the Foundation has launched its scholarship grant program to deserving students of Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU).
