The Road To Devastation

When tropical storm Sendong hit Mindanao in December 2011, Mater et Puer Foundation, in partnership with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office- Sweepstakes Employees Union- PCSO Employees Mutual Benefit Fund (PCSO-SEU-PEMBF), did not waste time in sending relief goods/hygiene kits to its victims in the hardest hit areas of Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City.

Unmindful of their own personal convenience and the possibility of not being able to spend the New Year festivities with their loved ones, Davao City lawyers Arlene Lorejo-Cosape, Dina Joy Tenala and Ravena Joy Rama flew to these cities to distribute the goods themselves.

A total of 5,000 direct beneficiaries from 7 barangays were the recipients of relief goods and hygiene kits from Mater et Puer and PCSO-SEU-PEMBF.

The group also spearheaded the conduct of the much needed de-briefing and psychosocial interventions training for volunteers in the area.
