On August 18, 2016, Mater et Puer Foundation, Inc., represented by its President, Atty. Arlene Lorejo-Cosape, and Atty. Dina Joy C. Teñala, formally became a partner of Children’s Hour Philippines, Inc. for the implementation of the project entitled “Indigenous Children’s Health Integrated in Literacy Development (I-CHILD).
The approved grant fund from Children’s Hour will boost Mater et Puer’s programs to address the problems of malnutrition, psychological trauma, human trafficking and child abuse among the Ata-Manobo children in the Municipality of Talaingod, Province of Davao del Norte.
The project goal is to protect these children by nurturing their physical and psychological health through feeding, medical missions, psycho-social first aid and raising the awareness of the caregivers and barangay officials on basic health and the laws protecting children.
